Laurent Blanc has emerged as one of the favourites to take over from the current Chelsea interim manager Roberto di Matteo in the summer. Roman Abramovich has been looking at various managers including Barcelona manager Guardiola in order to replace Andre Villas-Boas. Chelsea recently placed Roberto di Matteo incharge of the team till the summer.

However, it is widely expected that the former West Brom manager will not get the job on a permanent basis due to his lack of experience when it comes to dealing with the top players. Guardiola is thought to be the first choice for Roman Abramovich, who is also considering Real Madrid manager José Mourinho after coming to peace with the former Chelsea man.

New reports appeared to suggest that the Russian will be offering up to £ 10 million per year after tax for Guardiola to take over at Stamford Bridge. However, Guardiola is all set to turn down an opportunity to manage Chelsea, as he looks to retain the league crown from Real Madrid. Barcelona currently trail Real Madrid by six points in the league, and Guardiola is thought to be unwilling to leave Barcelona on a sad note. Hence, Chelsea have switched their attention to France national team manager Laurent Blanc, who has an impressive CV.

‘I can turn them down straight away. I will not be moving there. But I do think it is cool that I am being named in the same breath as [Jose] Mourinho and Guardiola. That is enough for me – that is already a personal triumph, but I am not available, sorry,’ Borrussia Dortmund boss Jurgen Klopp recently spoke with regard to the interest from Chelsea. Jurgen Klopp has been doing a fine job with Borrussia Dortmund, who are currently top of the German Bundesliga table.
