Athletic Madrid’s Diego Simeone has confirmed Chelsea’s interest in Diego Costa.  The 25 years old Brazilian forward is enjoying a sensational season as he is one of the top goal-scorers in La Liga even competing along with Lionel Messi and C.Ronaldo for the Golden Boot award.

The standout season from Costa has attracted the interest of clubs which are interested in signing him. Manchester United, Arsenal and Chelsea are some of the clubs which have already shown intentions of signing him but according to Diego Simeone, Chelsea has a huge financial power and they are working on signing the Brazilian attacker.

“Chelsea is very powerful. They have Samuel Eto’o, a great player, but they will think about alternatives and Costa could be one of them. He knows that on one side he could earn more money, but here he is going to compete” he told the bresil mexique odds website.

“If Costa decides to go, it will be OK with me. Our philosophy is to make players better and for us that is something fundamental. When Falcao left for Monaco, you could not say no to him. He gave us life.” Simeone said in relation to Costa’s future.
Jose Mourinho believes that Diego Costa can be the solution for the biggest problem of what his club has been suffering from in recent times and Simeone even said that a deal is possible as he would welcome back Fernando Torres.

“Fernando is always with us, obviously I have sent messages to him, he is very happy with everything that is happening to this team, he is always present, wishing us luck. Of course he would love to come back to the club he grew up in and where he was very happy.” Simeone admitted.

Torres signed for Chelsea in January of 2011 but he has failed to make any kind of impact with the Premier League club and if the Spanish forward can be used as bait in order to lure in Diego Costa from Athletic Madrid, Mourinho will not hesitate in doing it.
