Chelsea have been strongly linked with a move for the Athletico Madrid striker Radamel Falcao by Chelsea FC News. However, the player has said that he is not interested in securing a move away from the Spanish club because he feels extremely happy in Madrid.
The Colombian striker moved to Athletico Madrid as a replacement for Sergio Aguero, who departed for Manchester city. The 26-year-old has been one of the signings of the last season. Even though he may have cost £ 32 million in transfer fees alone, he repaid the faith put in by the club by scoring 36 goals in all competitions last season.
He was vital in helping Athletico Madrid lift the Europa league last season, while he was once again instrumental in the UEFA Super cup match against Chelsea recently. Radamel Falcao was at his absolute best in the match and he managed a stunning hat-trick in the final. Atletico Madrid ran out 4-1 winners over the Premier league club. He was initially linked with a move to Chelsea before joining Athletico Madrid. Now, Chelsea have once again reignited their interest in the player, but the Colombian has ruled out the possibility of moving to Stamford Bridge in the future.
“Just so you are clear: My dream is to continue to win titles with Atletico and help Colombia qualify for the World Cup,” said Radamel Falcao after lifting the UEFA Super cup. It is thought that the Chelsea manager Roberto di Matteo is extremely keen on bringing in another striker to fight for a place alongside Fernando Torres. Currently, Fernando Torres and Daniel Sturridge are the two strikers at the club. Hence, there is a feeling amongst the club that they need to bring in another player in order to compete on various fronts throughout the season.
