The Golden Age of football…..Chelsea and Brazil 1970…..THE DEFINITIVE ARTICLES!
(oh, and whisper it in case my mates hear, but that Leeds team was pretty good too….ironic therefore that some load of garbage from Merseyside won the League in 1970!!)
@kalamikid I remember that!
Osgood IS good!
That Leeds team is still infamous as the dirtiest- Brian Clough when briefly Leeds manager told them he wouldn’t put up with it! Bremner and Bite yer legs Hunter. When did Leeds win the double? And who have just done just that? That season Leeds ended up with nothing. I’ve just seen a clip of a pinpoint Charlie Cooke cross with left foot, here with the right; there are top players today completely one-footed. Bonetti played on after a vicious Mick Jones foul.
you were dirty
Eddie kicked that short arse ,bad tempered little ginger cunt right in the head…. funny as fuck
@Johnyc321 Don Revies Leeds will always be remembered… for being the dirtiest team the football league ever saw…. leeds tried to bully Chelsea at Wembley but got a taste of their own at Old Trafford and LOST
If only Bonetti had played as well as this against West Germany!
you are probably the
A modern ref looked at the whole of this game on DVD and said he would have booked 11 and sent of 4. Changed days indeed.
Eat a prawn sandwich wanker. Fair weather supporter
Get a GRIP CHELSEA SCUM. You will never be remembered the way DON REVIES LEEDS WILL BE. Nobody remembers the chelsea team but all football fans can name the LEEDS TEAM from that ERA
Awesome night!!!!chelsea bulled the bullies..poor dirty leeds ha ha heheho.
What the fuck are you on? Dirty Foul? Eddie Gray would have won the game for LEEDS but for wanker HARRIS – NEVER WERE CHELSEA AS GOOD AS REVIES LEEDS – We went to european cup final
Call us dirty, but the images of Osgood’s diving header and Hutchinson’s throw will always be there and will never go away no matter how much some would like it to.
The holier-than-thou brigade should shut up before talking about McCreadie, Chopper etc… Leeds were just as bad, Bremner anyone?
The greatest game in Chelsea’s history. Even if we’d beaten United in the Champions League final it would’nt have topped this win…and we didn’t, so I rest my case! Leeds ‘Who?-nited’.
Wish I was there. Who said our support was ‘shit’ back then ?
CHELSEA
Would have been 2-0 but for dirty foul on the great Cat Bonetti. Flair, guts + class won through in the end.
best day of my young life
but i’ll agree with your last statement, two great teams and a great cup final/s
all the experts say it just wasnt leeds day,but how many times were leeds hard done by back in the 60’s and 70’s,i could name a dozen times, the football f.a. wanted revie out the game and tried bloody hard by robbing his great team of further glories
charger you obviously watched another game, you forgot to mention that sprake fumbled a houseman hit and hope in the wembley game.leeds were the far better team over the two ties, also if you look at the league fixture previous to the cup final you’ll notice leeds won 5-2 at stamford bridge only months before the final.however, i have to add this: mcreadies foul on bremner in the second half of the replay, not only was it a penalty but mcreadie should’ve been banned for that kung foo kick.
Well Leeds hit the woodwork three times in the final matches but they scored a goal at Wembley from one of the rebounds so that one hardly counts. Chelsea had two efforts cleared off the line, a perfectly good goal disallowed at O.T. not to mention Bonetti playing most of that match on virtually one leg so didn’t have all the luck. Webb may well have nudged Gray but the ball definately goes in off his cheek. Two great games and two great teams.
you bitter bastards. Super Chelsea superior to Leeds filth every time.
