French national team manager Laurent Blanc has said that he would return to club management if he receives an exceptional offer from Premier league club Chelsea in the summer. Chelsea are currently looking for their eighth manager in as many seasons after sacking Andre Villas-Boas midway through the campaign.
Roberto di Matteo has been appointed as the interim manager until the end of the season, but the consensus is that he will not be offered the permanent job if the team does not qualify for the Champions League next season. Even though Barcelona manager Guardiola and Real Madrid manager José Mourinho remain the firm favourites, Laurent Blanc’s name has also been mentioned as a potential successor to Andre Villas-Boas.
Now, the French manager has revealed that he would like to return to club management with Chelsea, but he needs to receive a great offer from the 2009 Champions League finalists. Laurent Blanc did a fantastic job with French club Bordeaux before eventually taking on the role as the manager of the national team. He has been extremely successful with the French team, which has struggled for a good number of years now, in the last couple of years. The French are regarded as one of the underdogs to win the Euro 2012.
