The Timo Werner deal to Chelsea is looking like the perfect move for all the stakeholders. The German was initially keen on joining World and European Champions Liverpool, but plans change.
Liverpool has one of the best proven attackers in the world. Werner could have played backup to Firmino or help boost depth when either of Sadio Mane or Mo Salah get injured or when they go play in the African Cup of Nations next year. Kop fans have regretted missing out on a good player for decent price, in this over bloated transfer market, that would have been a solid addition. They are going to be Premier League Champions, there is momentum to consolidate and it was obvious Werner was not going to wait a year for the Reds to be ready even though Covid-19 happened.
